Crime update:

• From Mike at Maple Leaf Life: Suspect in Maple Leaf burglary lives in neighborhood. Six blocks away, but still: Not cool.

Meeting updates:

• Tonight’s Roosevelt Neighborhood Association Land Use Committee meeting about the rezoning plans is at Calvary Christian Assembly (6801 Roosevelt Way NE), at 7pm.  In anticipation of lots of people, the meeting room has been moved to Rooms 312, 313, and 314.
• Tomorrow’s Crime Prevention meeting at the Ravenna-Eckstein Community Center (6535 Ravenna Ave NE) is proving to be a popular one; SO popular, in fact, that space is becoming an issue. Also, remember: the RSVP was used as a counting tool, NOT a seat saver. The event is certainly not meant to be exclusive.
• Wednesday is the next Ravenna-Bryant Community Association meeting. The usual meeting space (the big room at the Northeast Library) was unavailable, so the RBCA will be meeting on NE 65th St somewhere. Post with official location to follow, but count on a meeting from 6-7:45 pm, as usual.

Miscellaneous tidbits:

• Meteorologist types are predicting cooler temperatures starting Wednesday. Were you going to cloche your vegetable beds? You might wanna get on that.
• Starting today, Seattle Public Library is using a new catalog system that requires users to create a username. You should get on that, before your favorite is taken.
• Eckstein Middle School is starting up Saturday School. From the email:

On November 20th, Eckstein will launch Saturday School, a new intervention program for students who have four or more missing assignments and a grade of D or E in a class. Teachers will refer students to Saturday School and counselors will call the student’s home to let families know that the student is expected to attend from 8:30 – 11:30 am.  Students who successfully turn in all missing work by Thursday afternoon after being referred to Saturday School will be excused from attending. The purpose of this intervention is to encourage students to take responsibility for their work and to give them additional time and support if they are stuggling to complete it.
